Who is responsible
Alfredo Avila Escobar, located at Ave. Cañón Johnson Norte #6478, Col. Francisco Villa, C.P. 22615, is responsible for your personal data in Qritico.
Write to privacidad@qritico.app about anything related to your data or these terms.
What data we use
Only what Qritico needs to work:
- Account: email, username, display name and, if you add them, photo, banner and bio. Your password is handled by Google Firebase Authentication. If you change or recover it on the Qritico page, it passes encrypted through our server only to hand it to Google: we never store or log it.
- Birth year, to confirm the minimum age. We ask for month and year but only keep the year.
- What you do in Qritico: library, ratings, reviews, lists, tier lists, podiums, posts, comments, messages, votes, play sessions, moments, alerts and settings.
- Security: device name, platform, app version, notification token, and IP address in your sign-in history.
- Accounts you link (Steam, Xbox, Twitch, RetroAchievements): the account ID or username and what you choose to import, such as your library or achievements.
- Payments: plan, status and renewal dates of your subscription. Card details stay with Google Play or Stripe; we never receive them.
- Your PC specs, only if you add them, to compare with game requirements.
- Voice reviews: while you have online voice minutes, the app records what you say and Qritico sends it to ElevenLabs (or, if that fails, to AssemblyAI) to turn it into text; Qritico does not keep the audio, only the text. Without minutes, or if you choose phone dictation, your phone turns speech into text and the audio never leaves it. If your phone has no offline dictation, we ask you before using Google's speech recognition.
- How you use Qritico: which games you open and how much active time you spend on their page (not counting time when the app is in the background), and which screenshots and trailers you view; which recommendations we showed you, their position, which ones actually appeared on your screen, and whether you opened, saved or dismissed them; what you search for in the app; how often and in which part of the day you use the app, errors and loading speed, and your connection type.
We do not record what you type letter by letter, how fast you type, or features of your voice: from a voice review we keep only the text you approve and how many seconds you spoke.
- How you rate: your score, whether you moved it or left it as it was, whether you said it or we suggested it, and how long you took to decide, so we know how much weight to give it.
- How you play: the hours, sessions, playthroughs, achievements and last-played date you log or import from accounts you link. For imported achievements we keep the date and time provided by the source service; we do not use them to infer your daily schedule.
- What you buy: the games you mark as bought, their price, whether a price alert brought you there, and clicks to stores. We use this for your stats and alerts. We do not use it to rank your recommendations, and never to set the price of Qritico Pro or to decide when to offer it to you.
- Your taste questionnaire: platforms, genres, themes and moods you choose, whether you need games in Spanish, the games you mark as liked or not liked (and the ones you were shown and skipped, with their position), your answers to the "which would you play today" comparisons, and the optional answers about weekly time, budget, difficulty and who you play with.
What we use it for
To provide the service: create and protect your account; show your profile and content according to your settings; recommend games based on what you rate, save, search, play and open; send the notifications you turn on; charge and manage subscriptions; moderate the community and prevent abuse; and comply with the law.
To improve Qritico (not needed to provide the service; you can say no): train the recommendation model with the activity of many people at once; measure how well recommendations and screens work; and understand, in aggregate, why people stop using the app. Opt out in Settings, Data and privacy, "Use my activity to improve Qritico", without losing any feature. Your activity leaves training starting the next night.
What we collect for security and abuse prevention is never used to recommend you anything.
We do not sell your data, show ads, or use your data for advertising.
Recommendations and personalization
Qritico ranks its suggestions with its own model running on its own servers. It uses your activity in the app, other people's public activity (public reviews, communities) and public game data.
It does not use your messages, drafts or private reviews to recommend games to other people. Your private reviews only tune your own recommendations. It does not use your location. It does not use data about health, religion, sexual orientation, ethnic origin or political views, and does not try to guess them.
Every suggestion says why it is there. The match percentage is an estimate, not a guarantee.
You can turn personalization off in Settings, Data and privacy. You will then see the same lists anyone sees (top rated, new releases and trending). You can also delete your search and viewing history and reset your taste profile there.
No important decision about you, such as suspending your account or charging you, is made by this model alone.
Who else processes it
Providers that process data on Qritico's behalf, only for the purposes above. They may process it outside Mexico, including in the United States:
- Google (Firebase Authentication, Cloud Firestore, Cloud Storage, Cloud Run, Firebase Cloud Messaging and Google Play billing).
- Anthropic: when you use voice reviews or "Ask in your own words", the text you dictated or wrote is sent to Anthropic's Claude to tidy it up or understand it. Under its commercial terms, Anthropic does not use that text to train its models. Without this service Qritico uses its own text processing.
- ElevenLabs and, if it fails, AssemblyAI: when you review with your voice using online voice minutes, they receive the audio of each take to turn it into text. They keep it under their own privacy policies; Qritico does not keep the audio.
- Stripe, for card payments on the web.
- The email provider that sends our account and notification emails.
- Steam, Microsoft Xbox (through OpenXBL), Twitch and RetroAchievements, only if you link those accounts.
Game data, prices and streams come from IGDB, IsThereAnyDeal, GG.deals, Steam, Twitch and other public sources; we send them no personal data.
What you publish (reviews, lists, posts, your profile) is visible to other people according to your privacy settings.
Your rights
You can access, correct and delete your data, object to its use and withdraw your consent:
- Download all your data in Settings, Data and privacy (a JSON file; the link lasts one hour).
- Edit your profile and choose what others see in Settings, Privacy.
- Delete your account in Settings, Data and privacy. Your profile, content and history are erased right away.
- Your download also includes your viewing history, the recommendations we showed you and what you did with them, your questionnaire, your computed taste profile and the signals we compute about how you use the app.
- You can object to each use from Settings, without writing to us.
You can also write to privacidad@qritico.app. We answer within 20 business days.
If you believe we mishandled your data, you can go to the competent personal data protection authority.
How long we keep it
- While your account exists: profile, library, reviews, lists, play sessions and settings.
- Recommendations shown to you and app usage measurements: 90 days.
- What you did with recommendations, game pages you opened and your searches: 12 months in detail; after that only a per-game total remains, deleted with your account.
- Sign-in history and notifications: 180 days.
The recommendation model is retrained every night, so what you delete stops influencing it by the next day.
When you delete your account we erase your data from our systems. Google Play and Stripe keep the payment records the law requires.
Minors
Qritico is for people 13 and older. If you are between 13 and 17, use it with the permission of your parent or guardian. If we learn an account belongs to someone under 13, we delete it with its data.
- If you are between 13 and 17, your activity is only used to recommend games to you. It does not go into training the general model unless you turn that on in Settings with your parent's or guardian's permission.
- We do not show you Qritico Pro offers based on your behavior, and we do not use your purchases to recommend games.
Cookies and trackers
This website uses no cookies, trackers or scripts. The app includes no third-party advertising or analytics libraries. The usage measurements described above are made by Qritico on its own servers.
Security
Connections are encrypted, and you can turn on two-step verification, review your sessions and sign out other devices. We review the service regularly and limit who can access the data.
Changes
If we change this notice we update the date below and the app asks you to accept the new version before continuing.
